On Jan. 31, the School of Design and Creative Technologies welcomed Kathie Sever, creator of Fort Lonesome and pioneer of the Austin chain stitch style. After a brief lecture, attendees were given a crash course in the art of chain stitching. Sever first demonstrated how to make a basic chain stitch before onlookers had the opportunity to try their hand at the technique.
