Mountain Spirit

A mountain spirit takes a peaceful morning walk in the great outdoors. This student-created animation takes inspiration from the painterly style of Studio Ghibli and the traditional rice hats and hanfu clothing of China. Animated with Blender's Grease Pencil, painted with Adobe Photoshop, and composited in Adobe Aftereffects, this walk cycle loops at around 40 seconds, features 5 layers of parallax, and includes sound design taken from Mixkit. The entire project took 40-50 hours complete and was the student's first time using Blender's Grease Pencil tool.
