Lecturer, Arts and Entertainment Technologies

Taylor Bancroft is a full stack engineer for a financial technology startup based out of Portland, Maine and co-lecturer for Media and Technology Foundations in AET. She has worked on building the front and back end of a mobile application that aims to promote financial literacy in underserved communities. She has a B.A. in Psychology from North Carolina State University and an A.S. in Computer Science. She has worked with at-risk youth implementing an evidence-based reading fluency program, researched international publication patterns of psychology journals, and worked with children with autism in an early intervention preschool.

Taylor is passionate about finding ways to support and grow communities in many different shapes and forms. Currently, that means working with students in AET to ensure that every individual feels confident and capable with technology regardless of their experience prior to college. In her spare time she competes in a women’s/non binary pinball league, is building a computer with a modern software hierarchy from the ground up, plays in too many D&D campaigns, grows watermelons, and participates in a faculty book club.
