Some of the brightest minds from The University of Texas at Austin will gather this Saturday to share their ideas at the sixth annual TEDxUTAustin conference. SDCT is well represented at this prestigious event, with two out of the nine total speakers coming from within our community.

Two graduate design students, M.A. in Design focused on Health candidate Iya Abdulkarim and M.F.A. in Design candidate Libby Riddell, have been named to Graphic Design USA's 2023 Students to Watch list.

In November 2022, Assistant Professor of Design Jiabao Li was named to the Forbes China 30 Under 30 Class of 2022 cohort. Li spoke at TEDxBoston that same month on the topic of "Interspecies Co-Creation."

Design professors Tasheka Arceneaux-Sutton, Vic Rodriguez Tang, and Dr. Cheryl D. Miller were included in The 2023 PRINT Typography Report for their work.

Artpace San Antonio, a nonprofit residency program, has announced Arts and Entertainment Technologies Professor Yuliya Lanina as one of its Spring 2023 International Artists-in-Residence. 

Arts and Entertainment Technologies student Hari J. creates a fan animation for K-pop band, BTS, that is discovered on Instagram and lands her a commission opportunity for the 2022 MTV VMA's.

Grace Troutman, a Spring 2022 Graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Arts and Entertainment Technologies (AET) and a double minor in Arts Management and Business, went from her dream college experience at The University of Texas at Austin to landing her dream job at TikTok.
